Data protection conditions of Tischtennis Gubler AG

As of October 1, 2007

We take the protection of your data very seriously – that's why we comply with the legal data protection regulations and do everything we can to keep your data confidential. Furthermore, it's important to us that you always know what data we store and how we use it. Please take a moment to read the following information, which informs you about how we handle your data.

1. Why do we collect your data?

We collect and process your data to maintain our business relationship, to provide you with the best possible service through convenient access to our products and services, and to offer you the greatest possible range of services when processing your order, i.e., ordering, delivery, and payment. We also use your data to keep you informed by email (newsletter) about new releases, special offers, services, and other information that we believe may be of interest to you - but only with your consent, which you can revoke at any time. In order to offer you the best possible options for choosing a payment method, we must protect you and ourselves from misuse. For this purpose, we also use your data to check your creditworthiness. The information obtained in this way protects us from damage that could have a long-term impact on our pricing structure and is therefore also beneficial to you.

2. What data do we collect, process and use?

You can visit our website without leaving any personal data: when you browse without registering, we do not collect any personal data. By default, information such as your IP address, the time and duration of your visit, your operating system, browser, and page views are recorded. If you register as a customer, we collect data through the registration forms you fill out, including your name, address (including email), details of your preferred payment method, and details of your respective order. We also require personal information in the following cases:

  • You sign up to receive a newsletter or similar advertising materials;
  • You take part in one of our competitions;
  • You contact us.

3. How do we collect your data?

We only collect and use as much data as is absolutely necessary to process the order and communicate with you. This includes, for example, all data that we are legally obliged to process and store in accounting. Your personal data will only be saved if you provide it voluntarily when registering as a customer or when participating in competitions on our website. With your consent, we save this data as your personal profile so that you can easily log in with your user name and password on future visits to the website. This has the advantage that you do not have to re-enter your address details for each order process. You can object to the use of the data at any time. In this case, however, a complete registration is required for each purchase. We also save the information you provide when you subscribe to one of our newsletters. We use the so-called double opt-in procedure, i.e. immediately after registering on our website you confirm your wish to receive the corresponding newsletter or similar advertising by email.

4. Does Tischtennis Gubler AG use cookies?

To make shopping in our store more convenient, we use so-called cookie technology. Cookies ensure, for example, that you receive a personal greeting on your next visit or that you are shown information tailored specifically to your interests. Cookies are text files that are stored on the user's computer when you visit a website. Cookies are deleted when the browser is closed. Cookies do not store any security-relevant or personal data. Furthermore, cookies cannot transmit viruses, spy on data on your computer, or send emails unnoticed. Each web server can only read the cookies it has set itself. To use our web store, you must set your browser to accept cookies.

5. How do you access your data?

When you register with us as a customer, you create a username and a personal password. Your username and personal password ensure that only you have access to your profile. We cannot view your password because it is stored encrypted in a database. You always have access to the data we store. You can view and update the information in your profile, such as your chosen payment method and delivery address, during the ordering process, or at any time in the secure area under "Change Profile."

6. Who do we share your data with?

When we share data, we do so with service providers or partner companies that assist us in order processing and providing customers with information. These partners and service providers may only use the information to perform their tasks on our behalf and are obligated to comply with data protection regulations.
Under no circumstances will we sell or transmit your address data to third parties, for example to use it for advertising purposes.

7. How do we protect your data?

We have developed organizational and technical measures to reliably protect the data we receive from you. Intensive information and training of our employees, as well as their obligation to maintain data confidentiality, ensure that your data is treated confidentially. We can guarantee the protection of your data in particular because we provide customer service through our own employees and not through third parties, thus enabling effective monitoring and training. Our security measures also include occasionally asking you for proof of identity, particularly when contacting our customer service by telephone. We ask you to take all possible precautions to protect your data while using the Internet. Make it a habit to change your password frequently. We recommend using a combination of letters and numbers for your password and ensuring you use a secure, SSL-enabled browser for surfing the Internet. If possible, log off completely after using a computer that you do not use exclusively, and do not share your password with third parties. Your sensitive credit card information is transmitted to Yellowpay PostFinance using SSL encryption. Abuse can therefore be ruled out.

8. Technical data for safety at Tischtennis Gubler AG

For the security of your data:

  • Encryption of sensitive data transfers with SSL certificates.
  • Server security: Our servers are protected against attacks by firewall systems.
  • Your sensitive data is not accessible to our employees without special authorization.
