Rubber SpinLord Dornenglanz III

The rubber compound of the Dornenglanz III contains many artificial polymers, which make the rubber softer and more elastic than all other long pimples from SpinLord. In addition, the Dornenglanz III is very grippy. The (incidentally very robust) pimples themselves are slightly wider than the other SpinLord long pimples. The distance between the pimples is average. The pimples have a cylindrical shape with a small conical reinforcement at the bottom of the pimples. The pimple heads are finely ribbed. The Thorny Shine III is noticeably slower than the previously available long pimples from SpinLord, only the Spiky Fire is almost in the same speed range. In direct comparison to the Lion Claw, which is also very slow, the Dornenglanz III plays completely differently due to its incomparably higher elasticity and softer rubber compound. It is more versatile and the ball flight curve is shorter and more dangerous. The Dornenglanz III is particularly suitable for table play as it is primarily made for an active and aggressive style of play. Thorny Shine III is also ideal for playing blocking balls (active and passive). Its playing behaviour is now very similar to that of Zeitgeist for blocking balls, while it is more effective than this rubber for other strokes. All in all, the Thorny Shine III in ox can now be seen as an improved version of the Zeitgeist (rather than a new version of the Thorny Shine or Thorny Shine II). The classic undercut defence is also possible and dangerous in ox. In the sponge version, the undercut defence is even more effective, making the sponge version a good option for classic defenders. The sponge version is also hardly any faster than the ox version (although the control is slightly less). When it comes to playing blocking balls, however, the sponge version of Thornslide III is significantly weaker than the version without sponge. Incidentally, the sponge is a very slow and soft sponge "Made in China". Overall, the 1.0 mm version of the Thorny Shine III is still slower than other long pimple rubbers in ox. Thorn Shine III can be easily combined with almost all blades. As with almost all SpinLord rubbers, the control values of Dornenglanz III are very high. Therefore, the Dornenglanz III is also very suitable for players in lower leagues. We think that especially players who were previously satisfied with rubbers such as Zeitgeist or Stachelfeuer will love the new version of Dornenglanz III. Players who like Dornenglanz but find it a little too difficult to play should also give this rubber a try.
